Sir Wynston Churchill

Born between June 6 - June 9, 2012 this puppy arrived on our doorstep June 11, 2012. He had been injured then turned into a vet clinic - we don't know what caused his injury but he is missing a toe and has a couple of nasty scars on his feet. He was a fairly demanding project at first - feeding him every 90 mins around the clock for the first week. He travels everywhere with us at the moment tucked into a carry bag.

In his first 3 weeks he has had a much busier life than your average puppy would have, simply because I work and we are busy and he has had to travel with us. I have no idea if this will be good or bad for him but as the expression goes it is what it is!

Wyn (Welsh for white) has been to high school, and elementary schools, ridden in the car every day, been in the city and the country, met our own dogs, cats and rabbits. He's been on grass, tile, wood, blankets, paper  towel and pee pads. He's attended Ontario Regionals, an agility practice and a lesson and been on three movie shoots, and he's been filmed for a movie. My intention s to keep updating this page to document his socialization!

The Wyn piece of his name is a direct connection to an old Estonian quote ... their flag is black white and blue and the bit of the quote that is relevant is "the pure white heart" ... in all his puppy and dog innocence Wyn has about as pure a heart as possible (and,of course I love having a largely black dog named White!)

Sir Winston Churchill was a survivor, he liked black dogs and he also said some things that resonate with me including:

A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.

Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.

Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential.

I am easily satisfied with the very best.

and,

Never, never, never give up

(Big T also thought a puppy as tiny as him needed a big name!)
